The SINGEI project begins in Mar Menor watershed, with 120 pig farms, which will be used for the certification of carbon credits of 10,000 t C02 in its pilot phase (2025-2026) as a loyalty program for Biaurelian Carbon Partners by Aurelian Biotech, manufacturer of technological additives for mitigation of CO2 GHG.
SINGEI aims to reach 5 million pig units and generate 125,000 t C02 per year, which will allow farms to continue with the service. Thus, additives used for the mitigation will be more affordable and even free, depending on the credits quotation.
The rapid, effective and periodic application (once a month) of the technological additive helps to promote great positive advances such as:
Roughly, every 45 units of fattening swine have the capacity to mitigate 1 CO2eq credit, and each carbon credit is the equivalent of 1,000 kilos of carbon dioxide.
The price of each credit currently ranges between 40 and 80 euros in the Voluntary Carbon Market of 2023, although it is expected that in the coming years it will reach much higher prices due to high global demand of these emission rights.
Grouped project of Verified Carbon Standard of VERRA, framed in group 15 – Management of livestock and manure -, under the epigraph ACM0010: Reduction of GHG emissions from manure management systems, and alternatively the GOLD STANTARD protocols.
Both INTEGRATORS and INDEPENDENT or INTEGRATED FARMS may participate, without the possibility of duplication according to the General Registry of Livestock Farms. Likewise, all participants must prove compliance with the program and the transfer of the CER rights obtained through it.
